    Site survey and drawings

    We measure on site, talk through finishes, and produce CAD drawings. You sign off on the design and the firm price.

    Workshop build

    Cut, weld, and dress in our Attercliffe workshop. Galvanised off-site, powder-coated to your colour, fully QA before it leaves.

  4. 04

    Fit and aftercare

    Two-fitter team, post sets cured before hanging, snag-free handover. 15-year structural guarantee on the gal-plus-powder coat.

The workshop

Two welders, one yard, no middle-man.

Bolt & Burn started in 2011 when Joe Wainwright walked out of a Sheffield steel fabricator that kept selling jobs they could not deliver. He set up two MIG sets in his father's old yard in Attercliffe and started taking gates and railings on his own.

Fifteen years on, the workshop is the same yard, the welders are still coded MIG and TIG, and the only thing we have outsourced is the galvanising. Every job quoted, drawn, cut, welded, finished, and fitted by people you have already met.

Honest answers.

Do you cover my postcode?
We cover South and West Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, and northern Lincolnshire as standard, free survey included. We will travel further for larger jobs (full estate gates, multi-storey balustrade runs); the survey trip is then chargeable but refunded if you proceed.
How accurate is the configurator price?
It is a working estimate based on linear metres, finish, and our standard sections. Real jobs vary with ground conditions, post foundations, automation, and access. The free site survey is what turns the estimate into a fixed-price quote.
What is the 15-year guarantee actually covering?
On galvanised plus powder-coated work, we guarantee structural integrity (no failed welds, no broken hinges, no cracking) and finish (no flaking, no white-rust through the coat) for 15 years. Painted interior work carries a 5-year guarantee.
Can you make my gates automation-ready?
Yes. We pour cantilever-rated post bases, supply 50mm conduit through to your meter cupboard, and partner with a local automation engineer for motors and safety beams. We can quote the full electric package or just the gates.
How do you handle building control and Part K?
For balconies, mezzanine balustrade, and external staircases we provide engineered drawings, load calculations, and the documentation your building inspector will ask for. We have signed off jobs across South Yorkshire councils and know what each one wants.
Deposits and payment?
30% deposit on order to cover materials, 40% on workshop completion (we will send a video), 30% on satisfactory fit-and-snag. Bank transfer, no card surcharges. Trade and architect accounts available on request.
